Barris 1956 Lincoln back in the Family
BARRIS 1956 LINCOLN
Brett Barris recently bought back his father, George Barris old 1956 Lincoln Continental. The plan is a complete restoration to its 1956 version.
In January 2014, George Barris’s old 1956 Lincoln Continental, mildly restyled personal car from 1956 was offered on eBay. The car was located in Florida and sold as the old George Barris Lincoln.
Brett Barris decided to get the car back in the family and bought it, had it shipped to California where it arrived in the first week of March 2014. The car is not in very bad shape, but does need a new interior, new padded vinyl top and a complete going-over to get it back to how it looked back in 1956. The current plan is to take all that happen in the next couple of month and debut the restored car later in 2014. We are looking forward to see the restored Lincoln back on the road.

George Barris bout the Lincoln Continental brand new in 1956. And immediately lowered it about an inch to give it a better profile. George repainted the car in metallic rust, (25 coats) and the top was redone in padded white vinyl with chrome plated Landau Irons for an classic look. The car was dressed up with spotlights and a set of aftermarket bullets to go on the stock hubcaps.
