Torchie! That’s so cool, good save. And what a difference in the before/after.
Trying to come up with an appropriate alternative would be an nightmare I’m sure.

This discovery by our Torchie may be a little thing, (no pun intended Tony) but how many times have we struggled…short of costly and very tricky welding…with unsightly options for joining pieces as above. Screws, bolts, with a variety of protruding heads. Then rivets, without easy disassembly and reassembly…which inevitable will frustrate in a build. Here is a low profile rivet head bolt. Who knew?
Thanks for sharing, Torchie, and long live the CCC!

I finished up the framing for the trunk floor today.
Time to dig out the half sheet of 18 gauge metal and cut out the piece for the floor.
That’s for tomorrow after Physical Therapy. Today was for my mental therapy.

May 20, 2022 at 01:34 #73388TorchieParticipantMore Dodge work today.
I must be feeling better.
I couldn’t even lift this half sheet of 18 gauge metal last week.
Trunk piece cut to fit. Drop down piece in there as well.
My new shop inspector came over and gave it the official Okie-Dokie.
Keep moving forward……

Removed the center section of flooring and trimmed it down.
Flooring back in along with the cut down seat.
I then started to tackle the seat springs.
This is for the bottom cushion.
Yes, I know. Old school.
Tying down the seat springs to make more room.

I tried the tied down springs in the Dodge seat frame.
Still too thick.
Plywood and Hi density foam when the time comes.
