Keep moving forward Torchie, like a shark!
That is a real bummer, it appears to be completely unusable.I’ve seen a few of these around here, Northern California. Wonder if we can find one and harvest its frame? Or, how intricate is it, to build from scratch?
I have built a number of early Ford frames, I know they are simpler, but…
Thinking off here,

It’s not useable at all, Mitch.
The areas not rusted through are wafer thin.
I prefer to use original frames but I may have to change that attitude on this one. I would like to keep it all Mopar which ever way I go.

No progress on a frame. So I started on the roof filler work.
Cleaned off the paint I put on to protect the bare metal.
Skim coating the roof over all the welds. I want to get the roof area done from above the gutter line. Side to side.
Cheap magnetic light sticking to the roof to show how little filler is actually being used.

Nothing post worthy I’m sorry to say, Mike.
Still haven’t got my compressor issue sorted out so I’m concentrating on the wooden boat restoration in the mean time.
Being unable to locate an original Dodge frame with in a reasonable travel distance I picked up a 87 G platform car to use as a frame swap. I don’t usually do frame swaps( I prefer original frames) but I have done a couple in the past so It’s not uncharted territory.
The 87 G platform is the correct track width for what I need. I will have to lengthen the wheel base though.
I hope to get back to the body work soon.
Thanks for asking.

I moved this beast into the shop last night. Me and one other guy. LOL
A bit of a job for a one legged guy with a bad heart. But now all I have to do is get it wired up.
Just another bump in the road….

Going for wiring tomorrow.

Seems like it Ian.
Plus it’s the busy time of the year here, (Summer = tourists) so my friend that helps me with things like this is on a tight leash..

August 20, 2019 at 00:06 #64923TorchieParticipantSome progress at last.
With the new/old compressor I can really get to work using my old air powered body tools.
I also started to remove the nasty old enamel paint on the roof. Section by section. You have to wear a respirator for this stuff.
Hopefully more soon but it’s supposed to be hot here tomorrow so we will see.

Thanks all.
I know these posts are boring but I’m using them to keep motivated. I’m getting back to my “Do something on the projects everyday” vow.
Yesterday was boat day. Today is a Dodge day.
More paint removal. There is epoxy sealer under that areas that have filler and once stripped I will over coat the entire body shell with epoxy sealer.
Thanks for looking in.
