    Thanks Gang!

I will try to get a pic of at least the entire roof Rik.

It’s kind of stuffed into the shop right now along with my wife’s car and my wooden boat project.LOL

    Ok Rik.

These are the best I could do. Plus this side is the side that is missing the rear fender.LOL

The green tape is showing proposed cut line for the section although I may be able to cut the front fender straight across where the wide horizontal green tape line is.

Looks like the plan is working.

Time to sit back on the pondering chair.

    Thanks Tony.

My plan is to fab the filler piece for the area between the catwalk and the rear window next. Then finish welding everything in.

Then move ahead to the section. I’m thinking 3″ will work.

p.s I spend way too much time in the pondering chair now.LOL

    Thanks Rik.

Sorry I couldn’t get you a pic of the DS with the rear fender.

How much did you take out fo the section?

That tape line is about 2-1/2 inches Rik.

I just eyeballed the tape width to show someone what sectioning was. LOL

What a difference a few inches makes. Wait…. That sounds like a Quentin remark.LOL

    It does make a difference!

If that’s 2 1/2″ I’d go the full 3″ and call it done.

I agree Tony.  I just eyeballed that tape for width when I put it on. In some spots it’s 2-1/2 and in others it’s wider.

While investigating sections it seemed to me the 3 inches was the number most mentioned in sectioned cars that had the look I am going for.  2-2-1/2 was talked about as well but with as mild a chop as I did on this one I believe it would stand up well to the full 3″.

The Polynesian was sectioned 4″  but was not chopped. And Ron Dunn’s Ford was a 5″ section ( Also un chopped) which, while I love the car was not the look I wanted.

I’m going for something more of a “The factory should have built it this way” kind of look.LOL

“California Dreaming. On such a winters day.”

Thanks for the plaque print out Rik.

    More prep for the section.

Even though this car was gutted there is still some things to remove prior to cutting.

A couple of pics of the factory internal bracing that I would like to avoid cutting thru.

The A pillar has about a 3-1/2″ area with no bracing behind it . I’m taking out 3″ from there.
