You’ve got the right attitude, all the best with what unfolds..
Yes, gas is old school…and you can do it!
September 25, 2018 at 01:12 #60997TorchieParticipantThanks Rik, Ian, Larry and Tony for all the support. I feel like we are not strangers on this site. Just friends that haven’t met face to face yet……:)
It is said that all life is a circle, so me going back to gas welding is just me going back to my car beginnings when I was 14 years old.
Everything tucked away for a nap. This way I can get the wife’s car into the garage as well since she will be in charge of transport for a little while.

I dig it.

September 25, 2018 at 16:30 #61006Ian GibbonsParticipantYup looks great sectioned.
September 25, 2018 at 16:57 #61007TorchieParticipantDon’t you just hate it when your sitting and staring at something and the light bulb goes on……:)
That pic show approx 3-4″ section. Like he said. He did it quick and dirty.
This pic shows approx where he took out the section. Right above the front tire opening and then across the body and rear fender but down lower.
And as Larry pointed out wouldn’t it be nice to just be able to photoshop it done.LOL And yes it is a carrot in front of the Donkey’s nose. But sometimes that just what this old ass….er, Donkey needs…..:)
We shall see as all has yet to be revealed.

I believe that the rear fender is at stock height and location Bert.
When I first saw the picture I thought that he had sectioned the rear quarter above the rear fender. Thus reducing the area between the top of the rear fender and the surface of the trunk lid. But upon looking closer I believe that it is stock. Just the hard to tell from he picture.
If I do this the rear fender will be in the stock height.
It’s amazing how this changes the looks of the Dodge.
And of course it’s a lot of work. But since when does that stop us….LOL If we didn’t like work. We would leave them stock.

However, that is just my opinion and you should definitely do it your way. Love your attitude and what you are doing.
September 26, 2018 at 23:17 #61024TorchieParticipantThanks for the clarification Bert.
I will definitely look at that.
I know on some sectioned 40’s era cars the fenders were raised up to do just what you are suggesting. That would entail even more work….lol
Had the implant this morning. Even though I was first in line I still got bumped for an emergency case but the wait was fine.
The left front area of my shoulder feels like it did the time I got hit by a line drive base ball……:)
I am supposed to rest for the next two days. Followed by no lifting the hand over shoulder height for 2 weeks.( couldn’t do that right now if I wanted too anyway). Followed by light activity for 4 weeks. So Torchie’s somewhat grounded for a while.
I did get a call for the cardiologist on the way home and they want to do another echo cardiogram with contrast this time so I’m not quite sure yet whats up with that.
Mostly it’s going to be haunting the custom cars sights, and follow up Drs visits for a while.
Thanks for all the support.

September 27, 2018 at 04:59 #61027Rik HovingKeymasterGood to hear it went well, sure sounds like you are in very good hands, and they really care for your health.
Thanks for keeping us updated… Take it easy
