Front bumper progress…
The Bullet centers on the Hocker Hubcaps is another mystery part. John looked everywhere to find something similar in shape, figuring that it might have been based on an old Spotlight, like most of them were. But nothing came close. So in the end John decided they will have to be home made. Foam and Wood, next is to hollow out the wood template, and mock it up on a wheel, to see hoe it looks before making them in metal.

“I modified the front bumper guards yesterday. After studying older pics more closely, i noticed that the lens opening was smaller/shorter than the current guards that someone else cut. I added a 1/2” and they look much better now. The previous opening was too big.”

June 17, 2018 at 10:01 #59185Rik HovingKeymasterJohn took a few more high point of view shots. He also has created the bumper guard taillights and we will be sharing pictures of those soon. Soon the car will leave John’s shop and head down to the upholsterer for a complete new interior.
And a reminder where it all will be going to.

I do wonder, ‘though I like shaved bumpers myself, whether the bolts are now a thing of the past..? They are quite obvious in the vintage shots.
