I have made do with a small, cheap Chinese/English wheel and for the most part it has done what I needed to do. There is flex in it which is sometimes a pain. Got to do some 53 Eldo parts soon and so an upgrade is required. There were a couple of nice ones in Perth. Both had awkward adjusters tho.
I want to make a better G frame. Got a bit envious seeing Grant’s new/old one.
If you have a particular idea of a good design or bad please let me know and post pics too.

Building a wheeling machine this way would only be practical with a plasma cutter and there would be a lot of wasted material, as you’d have to buy full sheets of steel and only use half. But personally I think it would be stronger than a machine made from RHS and they just look so much cooler.
I remember reading a little on a thread on the HAMB, I actually think there might have been a few threads on the HAMB about this topic, I know it’s better to start a new one though as you can discuss ideas with people.
Here are some machines that I quite like.
That white one is pretty wild!

I don’t know much about it, but Palle can probably tell you all about the details.

I built it around using the Hoosier Profile top adjuster, upper wheel, and lower anvils. The upper wheel is 3 inch wide by 8 inch in diameter. The lower anvils are 3 inch diam. The frame has a 30 inch throat and is made of 4″ x 8″ x .25″ rectangular tubing. So far it has worked really well for me. The part that i like better about this design is that the wheel for adjusting the amount of pressure is at the top. Also the lower arm that holds the bottom anvil is at an angle. This helps when wheeling awkward shapes because the adjuster is out of the way, and the angle of the lower arm gives more clearance.

January 7, 2017 at 09:44 #46206Quentin HallParticipantPalle, bloody typical. You should have that one in the living room. Looks like a sculpture. Just needs a built in bar fridge, cigar humidor and DJ turntable.
Why can’t you be a low achiever like the rest of us?
January 7, 2017 at 09:59 #46211kustomlandParticipantQuentin….. Log of the C.C.C and go work on your Cadillac….. Palle get Rik to post some of his stuff , Because I think Palle is so bizy making tools into Olympic trophy’s dam it…!!!
I bet Palle could take a rock …Crush it extract the iron ore from it…..Then smelter it….. Make a pattern from sand ……And god dam pour and re create a German tiger tank …..!!! LOL hahahah

January 7, 2017 at 12:00 #46215PalleJParticipanthaha…thanks guys. Q if you want the CAD file, you can have someone cut the steel plate out, and make a similar one your self. i think theres a wheel from my design about to be made in the US right now..i would be honored to have one in Australia too…the price is a cold beer! have a nice weekend
January 7, 2017 at 21:17 #46223Quentin HallParticipantI would be honoured to attempt to build one like yours Palle. First I just need to work out if I have enough real estate to give it a home. . . And start a “Go fund me” page for the acreage of steel.
Do you mind if I personally deliver the beer when I come over. I owe Rik a carton. Not sure if he can drink a whole one on his own.
Hey Kustomland, where are you. I don’t know if I was drunk and I remember meeting you or if I imagined it…..? Are you still in Brisbane?
Perhaps we can have a Baron’s party and build it. . . But I definately won’t be shouting the beers for that bunch of lazy drunks.
My 39 is hibernating till my divorce settlement is sorted. . . At the current rate I should have it mid 2037.
