Thanks Quentin, The fade away idea came from me saving some doors from a sedan and thinking about doing a fade away fender. The idea came from simply drawing a line on a photo of the car on my computer. Then locating some 49 Mercury doors. I really enjoy doing Custom jobs.
Great… Looking forward to see some gray primer on it.
Will you be modifying the rear fender character line, or skirts to flow with the new fade away front fender line?

Yes, Probably. May eliminate the character line and flush mount the skirts. Still having some problems with the door opening at the fade line at the top. trying to use the original hinges but may need to use 49 Mercury door hinges. I have incorporated the front door brace to accommodate those if needed.
It’s tough to be original and yet stay with what may have been done in the customizing era we all admire. Well done! Your ’47 will certainly stand out from the crowd and yet fit right in.. As I say, tough to do!
