hmmmm… Sorry, but not a fan of louvres on Custom Cars.
Does not seem natural for me to break up those beautiful super smooth body lines with rows of louvres interrupting the flow. But its just a personal opinion. I know it was done back then… very rarely though.
The Fade aways is an interesting idea. I would love to see how it would look when executed. As for the louvers, I’m kind of diggin the louvers on the hood. If I were to do it, I think I’d stagger them a little more- have the row in the middle extend a little further and same with the middle row (more of a V shape to them). I’m not so sure about the louvers on the top of the fenders though. It seems a little cluttered being right next to the turn signals. But I do like the thought of doing something a little different!
Not sure about incorporating that Merc ‘kick’ into a sloping fadeaway, but you could connect the swage lines on the fenders and extend the front fenders back to add it to the door. Might make people wonder if it was factory or not…
I love that idea James! It makes me wonder if there would be a way to “fade away” the bottom half of the fenders into the rear fenders, thus creating the 49-51 dip where the top of the front fender comes down and meets the style line/fade away?
