Hey Rik, Also I am reconsidering the hood louvers now. I am thinking about doing a 56 Merc type hood scoop using a car top windshield peak.

Another go at the quarters… now with the low line James did, but still with the scooped front section.. and the extended forward rear fender… I just had to see it.

Front edge of the rear fenders should come forwards a piece too.

Just my opinion but the pics done by Rik and James D of the rear quarters/fenders make much more sense. It seemed to be getting too many lines in them as was pointed out by Ian.

The hood scoop on the 56 Merc that you posted a pic of looks like it came off of a 1953 Mercury hood. The Mercs in 55-56 had no hood scoops.

Keep at it. We are still watching. This is what real customising is all about….:)

I really like Riks photoshop work on the rear fender. It all flows together really nicely.

    Agree.

I have a 64-65 Thunderbird hood I picked up for the scoop to use for a “62 Ford Unibody PU.

I never used it. Much more subtle than the earlier scoop. Let me know if you’re interested.

In this sketch you totally nailed the stance of the this nice kustom….!! The flow was perfect and complimented the flow of the curve of the body and the lines on the side gave the nicest flow….. I feel you over looked this sketch and were to focused on scoops when I feel you had it all correct….

The issue I see with the quarter panel thing you have going on , Is PAINT….. Unless you choose the correct kolor , Or LARRY WATSON  the ” WET IT OUT MASTER ” style paint you could make it work with WATSON STYLE paint scheme. You will create a shadow under this quarter panel mod you have don. I believe when you have this dark shadow on your paint it will detract from you whole awesome body work…..

Take a leaf from the page of BARRIS ” SNOOKY JANICH ” FORD they got rid of the one on its quarter and it looked better smooth…..

Unless you are replicating the era they did this scoop thing then that’s kool because its your ride…….

The Westergard flow you had on a curved body with FADE-A-WAY doors flowing down with the merc side look was just puuuurfect….

Its a kustom and……Well you can cut it out………..100% honest , I love it in this sketch……
