Deltronicus, Concord, NC shared this old custom he has.

    Very interesting car…

“This 40 merc is an old custom from the 50’s, it’s channeled, nosed, decked, shaved, has a 40’s Chevy rear window, rain gutter shaved, roof de crowned and fenders welded/moulded on. All the work appears to be gas welded and leaded. Looks to be done well.”

Heres a pic I took at Lead Slead Spectacular in Davenport Iowa in 89: An old,  wild custom project, and the only car I didnt get a  clean picture of all week-end because of the crowd 🙂 Any one recognize it? I seem to remember I got a name and id of the car at the time but thats a loooong time ago.

I remember that at Davenport. It wasn’t so great looking but very very interesting. If I remember right it was featured in one of the small custom car magazine in the 50s.

Neat Customs from the 2020 Sacramento Autorama.

Gene Winfield restyled this one in the early 1950’s for Nick Cazatorto, and was restored at the Winfield shop a few years ago. The new owner has been putting it back together slowly over the past few years and the car debuts at this years Autorama.

Brian White shared these pictures of Bill Shoenleber ’35 Ford. I might have shared a few of these before… But Bill’s car is just so inspirational.

    From Cole Foster’s IG…

“I believe this to be the first metallic/pearl satin paint job, we had been playing with solid satin colors then Jesse Cruz said he just sprayed a base before clearing that he thought he could slow reduce and get a nice sheen. It worked.”

Tony from Acme Auto interior shared a few photos of the ’39 Mercury Sedan he did the glass work and some other detailing on. The car is from Utah.

(The slight forward rake, and the ’57 Caddy hubcaps, and hood louvres are not something I would have done… but otherwise…. WOW!!!)
