August 12, 2019 at 07:46 #64912Rik HovingKeymasterTerry Boyce shared this on his Facebook…
“We know customs are not everyone’s “cup of tea” here, but some of our friends may find this unfinished vintage custom as intriguing as we did. It was spotted at a car show in Utica, MI today, parked off to the side on a trailer. The car is a 1938 Lincoln-Zephyr Convertible that someone started to customize, apparently a long time ago, but never finished. The Zephyr headlamps in the front fenders were filled in and the grille opening reshaped to accommodate, very likely, a LaSalle or Packard grille. The windshield is chopped a bit. The Briggs Body plate remaining on the firewall shows the car to be 1938 Zephyr convertible coupe body #134 (the sunlight made it look like body #1, but there are more numerals in shadow). The tires, mounted on the characteristic FoMoCo-type wheels of the period were old and have an unusual tread pattern.”

September 25, 2019 at 08:45 #65244Rik HovingKeymasterVery sad news…. @instafab408 on Instagram just posted this….
“Fucking sucks went to go buy this rad custom from pick n pull in Newark they wouldn’t sell me the entire car. So went back to the shop to gather up tools ect… when I went back to get what’s good I was too late in the game… the doors were gone. real convertible doors… so now I have the convertible header and rear roll down qtr windows. Sorry to the guys that started cutting them out and left them behind.”

October 31, 2019 at 17:19 #65416Rik HovingKeymasterThe Late 1960’s, early 1970’s produced some very interesting samples of wild Customs mixed with Low Rider influences based on then near new cars.
Howard Gribble just shared these pictures and info on one of them that survived…
From Howard Gribble.
“One of the greatest full customs to come out of the late 1960s. This 1965 Pontiac Bonneville was built by the talented Tom Chafin and survives today in original condition. A truly important historical custom. Thanks to Johnpaul Oates for making these images possible.”And a few pictures of how it looked when just finished…

November 1, 2019 at 08:16 #65422Rik HovingKeymasterJohn Blizzard Jr. shared some really cool pictures from his late father’s collection on Facebook. His father owned an upholstery shop in the LA area, and did a lot of Hot Rod and Custom Car interior tops and interiors from the early 1940’s and up. John Jr. took over the shop after his father retired, and three month ago Jr. retired and with nobody interested in taking over the shop, it was closed. But the good part is that John now has time to scan his photo collection and share it…
Here are a few of the more Custom Car related pictures.
