December 13, 2018 at 10:12 #62183Rik HovingKeymasterCame across this on Instagram, shared by maplefrost
“Father of the Indy Roadster, Frank Kurtis customized, designed, and built race cars and sports cars from the 1920s through 1960s. His cars dominated the Indianapolis 500 in the 1950s when two-time winner Bill Vukovich drove them. They were lower to the ground than earlier racers because of the tilted engine and offset drive shaft (previously centered so the driver sat above it). This wooden model of a sports car and trailer sat on his desk (as seen at the bottom left) and we have reason to believe he built it himself.”

January 7, 2019 at 06:00 #62405Rik HovingKeymasterNeat late 50’s early 60’s style ’47 Ford coupe that was listed on Craigslist.
Virgil Haddox took these pictures of it and shared this…
“It was last registered in Texas in 1965, it was owned by a guy in Yuba/Sutter Area it has a y block in it with a old school cragar transmission adapter with some late 30’s 3 speed with a electric overdrive. I checked it out it was very clean over all. The headlights looked to be 58-59 Chevy pickup the trim rings were homemade. It’s all leaded the 53 desoto grill is on the original desoto pan.”

January 13, 2019 at 09:45 #62490PaulParticipantI know this one is more like a street rod… but visualize it with a nice set of white wall tires, some smooth hubcaps, and get ride of the mirrors… The car has absolutely perfect proportions with its “mild” section and chop. Would make a wonderful Vally Custom Shop inspired custom.
Hi Rik , I for one would LOVE to see this one photoshopped with the changes you’ve suggested …any chance please?  Paul B

Perhaps one day if I can find another photo of it. This picture is not very nice to start with. But I have to admit it did cross my mind as well.

“Found a picture today of the Swanx logo Kaiser, Miss Venus, that I don’t remember ever seeing.
It’s parked in front of one of Teds shops and is only the third picture I’ve seen of the car with it’s removable top in place!”Enjoy the beauty of Customizing
