That Hanomag is a 1939 1.3, built by Dave Rothwell in the UK, using BMW 325 running gear. Featured in Custom Car magazine in Dec 2014 if you want to track down a back issue. I like the steel wheels that it has now, more than the alloys it had when it debuted.
November 6, 2018 at 13:39 #61524Rik HovingKeymasterTony Duran shared this on my Facebook. I have never met David Guymon, so I thought it would be neat to share this picture of David and the car he resurrected in the mid 1990’s. Current owner Tony Duran recently finished a complete redo of the car.
“Long time friend David Guymon stopped by with his Swedish friends Lars & Benny. David rediscovered the McNutt ’39 Ford in the Mid 90’s and completely restored it. Was so proud that David had all praises for mine & Jorel Shockley resurrection of The McNutt Coupe.”

November 15, 2018 at 10:17 #61609Rik HovingKeymasterFrom the “Who would have thought” files….
I came across this photo from a Finish Customs posted by Janne Lepola on facebook and really like the grille on the car on the right, but could not quite place it. Pontiac with Henry J center???
I asked Janne and he mentioned it came from a Russian Moskvitsh 407 (1959)…. Who would have thought!

November 15, 2018 at 15:33 #61611Larry PointerParticipantThat is a cool grille, Rik, and it looks perfect in the molded front of the Chevy. How many license plates have sacrificed themselves, protecting a precious grille behind. Looks like this one for sure!
November 20, 2018 at 10:18 #61697Rik HovingKeymasterThe Rudy Rodriguez created 1940 Mercury will be auctioned at the Peterson Museum in December… some great pictures of the car on the RM site.

I’ve seen the Merc that Rudy Rodriguez built for Paul. It is truly an amazing car too. So subtle yet so radical in its execution and presence.
