June 18, 2018 at 17:06 #59194Dave TartagliaParticipantDoes anyone recognize this fender skirt on Andy Saunders new Citroen?
It may be partly or completely custom, but it looks familiar and I can’t put my finger on it.July 1, 2018 at 08:39 #59438Rik HovingKeymasterI came across this super nice Shoebox Ford 4-door convertible on Facebook I think. I was on my phone, and saved the pictures and planned to get back to get in touch with the owner of the car. But somehow I later could not find it again… So I have no idea at this moment who posted these photos. Hopefully I can find out later.
What I do remember is that the car was build by master builder Donn Lowe and that the car has been parked in the garage for quite a while, never been showed or driven, and that it was recently uncovered.

July 8, 2018 at 10:59 #59603Rik HovingKeymasterPer Webb of Iron Productions shared these photos of two brand new Swedish Customs. One done as an late 40’s early 50’s Custom, and the other as a late 50’s Full Custom. Both stunning cars.
Both photos were taken at the Annual CKOS Lead Parking event that took place July 7th, 2018. The 1957 Golden Arrow just won the big price there.
Oskar Granvik’s Coupe was chopped by Stefan Lundgren a couple of years ago, and he then sold the project to Oskar who continued to work on it as a Period perfect Custom. There are some more photos of it in the Progress Thread.

Here’s an absolutely beautiful 39 Mercury Convertible that was customized back in 1948 and he had all of the documentation of who originally did the work. It was at the Downtown Visalia Car Show on main st. So far the restoration was looking really top notch. He’s made a few small changes but it wouldn’t be hard to put it back exactly like it originally was in 1948.
Here’s the beautifully detailed Flathead and engine bay in that bitchin’ Custom 39 Mercury Convertible at today’s Downtown Visalia Car Show.
Here’s a great shot of the original owner of 39 Mercury Convertible back in 1948 right after all of the custom work was completed.
Here’s another picture of the Custom 39 Mercury Convertible back in 1949 now with WW tires!
Here’s some of the documentation on all the custom work done in 1948 on the 39 Mercury Convertible.

‘My Uncle Bob’s ’39, Torrance Ca. 1954..’
Written on the back of this photo: ‘This is the way the car looked when I got it except for the bumpers. It had ’47 Ford bumpers. I changed to ’40 Lincoln. It had a chopped hood but it was all dented.’
‘Since this was taken I straightened the bumper up and put a ’49 Chevrolet guard over the license.’
‘Lowered the front fender about 5 inches after this was taken.’
‘Radiused front fenders and trimmed bottom and rolled them under.’

The red chopped ’49 Merc convertible is nice… Looks like something that could have rolled the streets in 1949.
