Bill Moser send some photos of his really fine mildly restyled 1940 Ford Convertible and ’41 Pick-Up truck. Beautiful early 1950’s style street Customs.

A wonderful friend as well. He does nearly everything on his projects at home in his garage and urns out some really Bitchin cars (and trucks). His photos look great, but really don’t do justice to his car and truck. They are really that good, down to the smallest detail. Good to see them here, thanks Rik

November 7, 2017 at 19:32 #54792Dave (a.k.a. rodncustomdreams)ParticipantI had no idea the Merc was so visible from the road! Â Forty or so years ago a buddy and myself were on one of my regular trips to L.A. (an Aunt lived in Lakewood). Â While headed to Universal Studios we spotted Jeffries shop from the freeway and immediately doubled back on the adjacent road to see what we could see. Â Many of the details of the drive-by are lost to me now, but one of the converted Euclids (sp?) from Damnation Alley was parked out front. Â I remember thinking that, although the shop did not appear to be open for business just then, the lot seemed to be wide open.. Â I wonder if the Merc was there then? Â What year did it disappear?

November 13, 2017 at 16:54 #54898Rik HovingKeymaster1955 Chevy “Mozambique” originally built by Robert Horn to be restored.
Steve Stewart send me a message about what showed up in his shop.
“Look what showed up at the shop. Hilltop Hot Rods in Cold Spring, Kentucky will be doing a full restoration on her. She’s has seen better days.”
“The guy that bought it off Bob Horn (the builder) passed away. When he did the family was stuck in a money crunch. The car was the only thing they had of value. They sold it. It went through a bunch of hands. Ended up as you see it. Today the car was brought to the shop by the son of the man who got it from Bob Horn way back when. He was 12 years old when they had to sell it to pay the bills after his dad died.”

November 13, 2017 at 20:17 #54899Dave (a.k.a. rodncustomdreams)ParticipantCool car!  Even cooler that the owner has the opportunity to enjoy it this time around!  Some unique mods done there – are those late ’50 Merc tail lamps turned 90°(?), and Lincoln(?) rear bumper/grill used in front..  Pretty neat!  I’ll go back and try to read the specs.
It DO look tough right now so good on the owner and Hill Top for the vision to see it repaired!
