KeymasterThat is the Econoline Supervan, it is 1-1/2 feet longer that the regular van. The body seam on the extension is very visible. In 1970, I bought one for $300 (running with significant accident damage). I intended to make a camper van, had to sell it soon after to pay medical bills. Russ
Correct… but I did shorten my Custom version. The extra length sure would be welcome on a camper, but for what I wanted it looked out of balance.

ParticipantI saw this ’39 Ford 2 door sedan street rod on the HAMB. I shortened the wheelbase, then chopped and sectioned it and “corrected” the stance for a custom.

ParticipantQuick thing I did for someone on the HAMB.
There seem to be “plenty” of these Zephyrs around as four doors and I know people convert them to coupes, but that looks like a monumental job, so here’s a quick(er) and easy(er) two door conversion. They did make these as a two door, but with really long rear quarter windows, which look pretty crap. I shortened them and stretched the doors. Didn’t touch the roof.

KeymasterThat is really nice James. I like it.
I did this one for a client last year. Mine is based on a 2 door, since that is what the client has. I did several proposals, and this one, with mild chop, shaved drip rails and shortened quarter windows was my favorite. But the client preferred another option.Enjoy the beauty of Customizing

ParticipantStumbled upon a photo of the old (and somewhat famous, in France, in the 1980s, in Custom car circles, at least) “Tranche de Banane” Vedette and wondered what I could do with it. Nobody had even considered that it was possible to make a two door from a four door back then and some of the other choices look a bit awkward to our eyes, but hats off for trying. That chop takes no prisoners.

KeymasterThat looks soo good James. I saw the same images on Facebook and downloaded them on my computer with the exact same thought, but lacked the spare time to do it. So thank you . I think it looks really fantastic this way.

ParticipantSo someone of facebook commented on the Tranche de Banane, that the car had “ended badly”. I asked what he meant and he said that they had started to two door it a long time ago, but it was never completed. Then someone else – who seemed to be the owner of it – said it’s just “on hold” for now. Guess he has plans still. Hope they can get it back on the road again one day.
