This was my take on it from a while ago….Talbot Lago roof and a slightly raised tail.
March 8, 2019 at 19:59 #63233James DParticipantAlso had another shot at the Austin Princess, as i felt like there was more that could be done with it. They really have a lot of Bertone wedge look to them, once you dig into it.

March 18, 2019 at 10:00 #63350Rik HovingKeymasterDigital Restyling I did for Steve Pierce’s new project. 1936 Chevy Coupe turned Padded Topped Convertible.
And the actual project car…

March 18, 2019 at 15:31 #63352Larry PointerParticipantExciting! The 1936 Buick is one my all-time favorite “fat fendered” cars of the era. Thanks for sharing!
March 18, 2019 at 19:11 #63353KingKustomsParticipantI saw a Graber bodied Alvis when i was in southern Germany, being used as a wedding car. When i googled it, it turned out to be the actual very last Alvis car ever registered new, which happened becuase Graber took a while to build the body. There was a cool looking chop topped Alvis Burns special too, with an interesting story… http://www.classicandsportscar.ltd.uk/Alvis-Burns-Special/classic-cars-for-sale/17220
To me, this is fascinating. I caught this article strolling through this post and it was an interesting read. I wonder if Carroll Shelby had any influence on his idea to stuff an American V8 into them??? Great looking car that reminds me of Aston Martin, Bentley, and kinda sort Ghia-bodied predecessors.

March 21, 2019 at 20:30 #63373James DParticipantAnd a Sunbeam Talbot drophead coupe.
March 23, 2019 at 21:38 #63380Dave TartagliaParticipantSometimes just one big change and a few small ones are all you need. I never like the roof on the Morris Minor. So:

And that Sunbeam Talbot is really nice. I especially like the flush skirts.

June 27, 2019 at 09:25 #64457Rik HovingKeymasterThie is a project I had started a while ago. I was looking at a late 30’s Lincoln coupe and started to wonder how it would look with fade away fenders. I could not think of any of those with that treatment, other than the ’37 sedan that is currently being done by VonHitch.
While I was adding the full fade away fenders the very much forward positioned cabin of these Lincoln’s was even more enhanced. Then I was wondering how it would look with the cabin moved more towards the rear of the car, creating a better balance between the hood cabin, catwalk and trunk. I really liked the proportions, and the longer hood really screams very powerful engine… V12!….
I did a coupe version first and send it to Wolf.. he mentioned that with some skills (read… A lot) one perhaps could be created from a 4-door sedan, which are much easier to be found, and a lot cheaper as well. And then possibly do one as a Fastback.
Here are my finale versions of the Coupe and the Fastback. The doors on both are extended, and even though both were digitally based on a coupe, the rear doors of the 4-door sedan have most of the body shapes to create what is needed.

June 27, 2019 at 15:11 #64459TinwolfParticipantWow Rik , your make liquid gold here , sleek lines and classy Art Deco design , could have very well been a FoMoCo proposed V16 Lincoln model to counter the -36 Cadillac V16 Aero coupe . The 3w coupe rendering will keep dreamers like me tossing and turning and the 5w streamline coupe if ever built would have the closest roof proportions to the Phantom Corsair , both could possibly be built from 4door bodies but every panel needs massaging , wonder where a small size V16 can be obtained and a -38-39 Lincoln Zephyr 4door , move back the whole firewall / windshield area , extend the doors , yes the list of modifications will be looooong … something to dream about 🙂 !
Thanks Rik for keeping the cogs turning with beautiful renderings like these !
