Did these colorized versions a while back…. Goal was to keep it classic, to give the car a color that corresponded with the gray scale information…. sort of.

What colour was the So-Cal plating car actually?
I just hashed the Cadillac together in 10 minutes. IĀ“d probably do it differently another time. Maybe needs a tail fin coming off the top of the roof or something.
The So Calif Plating Ford was Sea-Foam green…. possibly something like this. But so far I have never heard anybody come up with an actual color

A beauty in streamline design , a car that will never happened to be built but still interesting to see “what if” ….
So this would really mess with the classic Ford guys. I was wondering what could be done to the Consul Classic. It shares so much with the Capri, yet it never quite had the glamour of that car. The roof line is very high which really doesnĀ“t help things. I made a coupe version first, with a PA Cresta rear screen, but then figured that if you were going to all that trouble, youĀ“d probably just buy a Capri. So i thought iĀ“d leave it as a four door, to save you all a lot of work. Not that the rear seat headroom would be anything to shout about, but hey ho – what price cool? The screen is lowered on the scuttle and raked back a bit and the tough bit might well be finding a Capri rear window and frame. Aside from that itĀ“s a lot of work on reshaped window frames and rear roof. I did suicide rear doors, just for fun. IĀ“d put money on there being an original design drawing somewhere that looks a lot like this.
Yes, why reinvent the Capri ? So i ended up with this thing as it’s easier to build. I put it on the owners club group on FB…caused some interesting discussion there…hehe!
They’re just not nice looking things with that reverse roof line. But the nose is pretty nice, the tail is terrific and the Capri roof is just fantastic. Ford did most of the hard work.
