How many time have you seen a Gazelle kit-car going cheap? Based on 4 cylinder Ford or VW, they were an attempt to make a scaled down 1929 Mercedes SSK, with mixed results. I thought, suppose we lose all the faux SSK junk and strip it down to the body. Glass-in the doors and go for a Lotus/Caterham Seven look.

By the way, I have have a group on Facebook called Neo Kustom Cars where we customize mostly 1965-85 and beyond cars. Have a look!

The 34 is spot on, but how about some full wheel covers.

As in what was done on some of the early Coacbuild cars, or perhaps the SoCal Plating Shop Hauler?

Perfect, and the ’40 Olds bumper really make it complete. Nice job!

Nicely done Dave….and brave to start with such an offbeat car!

Nick Matrangas’ British cousins Morris Six (maybe).

This car is essentially a Morris Oxford, with about 8″ added to the length of the nose, which makes it much more suitable for a heavy chop. Oddly there was a Wolseley version of this car too, that also had a stretched nose, but not as much as the Six. One car available in three lengths!

Anyway, the bootlid and surround are layed down, itĀ“s two doored and couped and chopped. The front of these is a bit plain. Kind of truck like somehow, but I think a Packard style grille and maybe some `39 Merc lights would work well.

Wow. I’ll never look at the Morris Oxford in the same way again!

    Inspiring Dodge Dave.

Great new lines on the Morris, reminds me a bit of the Packard Doug Thompson did a decade ar two ago.

Long memory Rik! I know the car you mean.

This Morris kind of needs a slightly longer tail to really balance it, but nobodyĀ“s perfect. IĀ“m amazed it came out looking like anything good at all.

I’ve gone all upmarket with this, though actually, you can still find these things for reasonable money, in the UK at least. ItĀ“s an Alvis TD21, which is a cool car in itĀ“s own way, but a bit staid, with a very upright roof to accommodate four passengers. With some changes to the roofline and a few other tweaks to make a coupe, you can have a very attractive coupe (if you donĀ“t mind forking out for custom glass) that looks a bit Ferrari/Facel Vega/Alfa 1900.

After reading your comments and looking at the picture I thought “It looks alright, it’s not that bad.”

Then I scrolled down and saw the second picture.
