Agreed seems odd they wouldn’t have done them while the chop was being done.

That shot of the Buick with the roof totally removed scares me! Guess the owner doesn´t fear commitment!

I really like the tail light treatment. I always thought the stock setup was a little off, but i spend some time looking at a 49 Buick a month ago and they do sort of make sense in the original design.

    WOW !

    Beautiful job on the Buick.

You are right James D. I refer to things like cutting the roof off of that Buick as “Pucker Time” as your entire body seems to pucker up in anticipation……..LOL

I believe there was a deal made on the paint-job. I think it had to be done before a certain time, which only allowed for the chop to get done before the paint deadline would pass. So the car was painted without a few of the other planned custom touches, and the car was enjoyed for some time before the taillights were then done. I think Darren plans a few more touches later one. Then possibly a complete new paint-job if needed.

I had a small part in the taillights as well.
After discussing it with Darren at the 2015 Old Style Weekend in Sweden I did this visual to show what we had talked about.

Another chop project Buick. This time a Sedanet from 1947. Another not-really-all-that-easy-to-chop models!

Really nice tasteful chops.  Thanks for sharing that.

And it’s ridiculous how much better that Buick tail light placement is!

Ola’s fine tune work on an already chopped 1950 Mercury Custom that a client brought to his shop.
