The profile looks really great.
May 2, 2015 at 23:51 #24825Rik HovingKeymasterBeautiful flow.
I can tell that you are making sure this one will look beautiful no matter from which point you will look at it.
Excellent work.

Makes me want to go out to the workshop and cut the roof off that v16. . . . I’m joking, I’m joking.! HeheMay 3, 2015 at 11:25 #24831TonyParticipantNice roof shape. The rear quarter window in particular looks like it will be really good. I think that’s an area that separates good chops from great ones.
May 11, 2015 at 22:03 #25221Kenneth KristianssonParticipantThanks a lot for all nice feedback
Have got a little more job done over this weekend. Driverside roof panel is tacked in and I have made the passenger side panel and nailed it with clecos. Now itĀ“s easier to see the new roof line and I think IĀ“m pretty pleased with it
When I did Lars and my own 36Ā“s I made contour mallets out of hard board to make sure the radius on the roof would be same at both sides but for this one I made a adjustable profile gauge instead wich makes the work a lot easier
May 12, 2015 at 00:06 #25223Quentin HallParticipantThat adjustable roof radius tool is very clever. Wish I had another roof to chop so I could make one.
May 13, 2015 at 01:33 #25276KingKustomsParticipantHoly cow…that’s an incredible shape! I love it. Just when I begin to think there’s no new way to chop a Merc, the shape of this chop provides a refreshing example of great lines and balance. Please keep us updated.

You have that 53 Eldo Quentin. Think itĀ“ll look good with a lower profile hehe.

Thanks Rob.
This weekend I have really got the blues since BB King have passed away.Long live the King.
Have the rear window area puzzled together now with new c-pillars and new beltline.
May 17, 2015 at 00:04 #25431Rik HovingKeymasterIncreadible work.
The flow and shape are so right. And it is a tru pleasure to see your precision work.
Looking forward to see the door frames an b-pillars in place.Enjoy the beauty of Customizing
May 17, 2015 at 01:02 #25432Quentin HallParticipantWhat Rik says! Inspiring to watch the exacting precision. The build is by far the most artistic aspect of this hobby. Don’t get the blues. B B gave a full life of artistic endeavour. The tentacles reach far and wide. There is a bit of BB right there in your handwork, so you can continue his legacy despite his passing and sing his praises for that. You are inspiring others right now. It goes full circle.
May 17, 2015 at 02:03 #25433TonyParticipantWonderful. Beautiful, clean work. Thanks for taking us with you.
May 28, 2015 at 07:13 #25873Kenneth KristianssonParticipantThanks guys,IĀ“m glad you like it even though itĀ“s not like the usuly seen chops with the rear window heavily laid down. When we planned this chop we where looking a lot at both Jeff Nepples and Jeremy Minameyers cars and I think we are somewhere in between them. Managed to move the cars around to get a straight profile photo.
Thinking of maybe shortened the quarter window about an inch and give it a slightly bigger radius in the rear. Think it will get a softer and older look by doing that.May 28, 2015 at 07:20 #25874Rik HovingKeymasterGreat profile…
I think I agree with you on the shortened rear quarter window. It will beef up the c-pillar size which it looks like it might need from this point of view. It does look a bit narrow, strange that was not really noticeable from the previous photos you took. With the rear quarter windows shortened a bit, the flow from the roof height will be better towards the trunk.Good eye.

May 28, 2015 at 21:18 #25915Kenneth KristianssonParticipantReshaped the rear of the quarter window with tape. Shortened it 1 1/4″ and made a new radius.A big improvement I think.
May 28, 2015 at 21:37 #25916J.B.ParticipantLooks great, Christian!
Very nice to see you this weekend at A-Bombers Flat Out Blast. -
