While researching the ’47 Barris Merc, I stumbled across the French website Kustom Kingdom.
I immediately recognized a 1956 Chevy customized in the 1960s by Marv Ringheim.

My eyes popped when I spotted the Florida license plate. I was able to read a display card in one of the photos and Googled the restorer, Scrog’s Hot Rods. They are located in Belleview, FL, near Ocala, two hours from me. Road trip!

There are a few more old photos of this car (Magazine scans) on the Custom Car Photo Archive.

The current owner has been trying to sell the car for several years.

I’ve always liked this car, and it looks to still be in pretty good shape. Although I like the first version a lot, it was on the cover of “Street Machine” magazine (from the U.S.A.) in the mid-1970s in pretty much the look as it has now. Obviously, it was pretty unusual to see a custom car on the cover of a magazine at that time.
