Four custom cars have been destroyed in the recent fire’s…The main one that devastates me is The Norman Timbs Special..this car was a hand built alloy body, rear engine Buick straight eight…it had been missing for a lot of years but was found and recently been restored ..I’m really upset about this as it is the pinical of a hand built special custom in 1947…..built over a jig and is hand beaten aluminum with no seams visible….there are several video clips on youtube if you are intrested…
Oh No! I hadn’t heard of this loss. That is a real shame indeed. What a nightmare these fires have been. I know so many people here that have lost so much. We have been lucky.
From what I have heard they were not home at the time of the fire, so nothing from their home, nor collection was saved. Here are some pictures of their Car and memorabilia Collection from an Hot Rod Magazine article.
Thanks Rik for the photos …I have seen some of the cars in the photos..the cream Hudson was another super rare car I think there was only 3 built by Pina Frinia in Italy…just devastating to see all these cars destroyed…
