This auction ended yesterday for the in progress Marcia Campbell clone Ford, very cheap for a very nice looking car:
Wow that is a great price. Hope it went to the right person who will finish it looking like an early 1950’s Barris Custom.

Early kustom 1940 ford convertible chopped – $41,500 (Lodi Ca)
This one is also listed (at reduced price on the owner’s Instagram account.)
It is a really nice car, and always has me wondered how it would look like done as late 40’s traditional custom. One big issue might be the location of the front axle, which seams to be not centered in the wheel opening all that well.

That thing with the front wheel looks weird , I found three pictures of -40 Fords that has the same “issue” , I wonder if it is stock or that the front wheel possibly is turned slightly left .. or is it that the side view with the optics does this to the picture ???

The ’39 and 40’s Ford all have this issue.. .but only very slightly.
On this particular ’40 Ford Convertible Custom something somewhere went really wrong. My guess is that it got a subframe along the way, and perhaps for clearance reasons the front axle was moved back a few inches. Or somebody just made a calculation mistake.
