I just read that the Hirohata Merc is to be auctioned off January 15

There is stuff all over the internet right now about the auction.
A couple of good walk around video’s on you tube as well.
I won’t even get into the debate as too how much it will sell for.

Wow! I’m glad it made the proper money. I did wonder if it would go away for a low (relatively) price.
I think that all us customs fans are glad that it sold for big bucks.
I’m not sure that many of us thought that it would sell for that much.
I hope that it just doesn’t get tucked away forever.

That’s great news, and it will be interesting to see who the new owner is. Anybody know if the “Gable Packard” brought good money too?
That is more than I suspected too. I figured in the 1 million plus a little range. But some one bought a piece of art. A Rembrandt or Monet, or… Barris Bros.

Well deserved for the art piece the Hirohata Merc is and well invested by Jim in the fifties to buy the Hirohata Merc ! I guess we will not see it outdoors except with armed guards by its side in the future …
Funny they mentioned at the auction the only time the Hirohata been outside US it was in Sweden 2011 , lucky me I was there to witness it …
