Eli English has chopped an 1939 Mercury Sedan which now lives in Norway, and hopefully will be finished with beautiful gloss paint one day.
Not an easy chop to perform, but when done right these 39-40 FoMoCo Sedans look absolutely stunning.

Wow, that´s by far the best looking chopped Merc or Ford sedan from this era that i´ve seen. I thought for sure the first photo was going to be the “here´s a photoshop i did…” picture!
To help visualize the effect I did a quick Photoshop lowering and added skirts and hubcaps. Lets hope we will see more of it soon.

Good you bring this one up again.
I saw on Facebook that the car had just been repainted, touched up where the body work was done. So hopefully it will be on the road this summer.

Interesting way to finish off the rear area around the trunk. I would have never thought of doing it that way, but it saves on massive metalwork around the rear window instead…but perhaps the same amount as what it took to form those panels. I would be curious to see how it flows in person. Fantastic work on an often overseen choice of kustom kanvas.
