ParticipantThe trunk floor on my 47 is junk and my gas tank looks like a voodoo doll. I got this mustang tank for cheap and some angle iron. Now I need to bend up a few parts for the rear body mount

ParticipantGot quite a bit of work done this summer and this is a quick pic before I “put it away” for the winter.
Got a lot of plumbing done, the exhaust in place…those are functional side pipes, brakes are done. Getting closer and closer

KeymasterWonderful news from the Eastbay Speed and Custom Shop
“With all of the great projects we have going we’re adding one of the coolest to our lineup to start in the near future. If you know custom cars then you know the name Dick Bertolucci.. one of the pioneers of our little world . Not only was dick a true craftsman he along with Harry Westergard and the Barris brothers in the 1940’s created beautiful customs in Sacramento California. Along with building cars and starting his body shop he also raced his custom 1938 Chevrolet (don’t call them Chevys ) and built many more race cars , motorcycles and restored some of the nicest 30’s – 50’s Chevrolets known.
In the early 2000’s he decided to build his 40 convertible in the spirit of how he did cars in the early days. He made many body changes which I’m still dissecting. Molded 40 headlights , 40/41 Buick inspired hood and grille treatment, molded pans and rear fenders , chopped and reworked body opening ,glass plate job in the Decklid , smooth running boards and the signature Bertolucci 1948 ford taillights molded into the body like a bar of soap! The list goes on.
Dick and I had developed a really neat relationship after receiving his award at the Sacramento autorama , he had asked if I’d be interested in helping him get the car across the finish line for him but only if he was heavily involved! Which would have been a great honor in itself.
Sadly he passed and we had never made that happen until now..I was able to put together a plan and find a great friend and client to take over ownership and we are going to pick up where dick left off and we are going to finish the Bertolucci ‘40 in Dicks honor the way he had planned ! I feel so fortunate to be able to get this all together and have such a great team around me to make it happen so stay tuned for more updates on this project as we work through the steps to the end. I’m sure he’s going to be up there watching us and picking it apart piece by piece but we’ll do our best to make him and the family proud of the end result .
