October 28, 2021 at 08:38 #72114Rik HovingKeymasterBill Bergen’s beautiful Kevan Sledge chopped 1939 Mercury is all painted now.
Bill Bergen…
“Wow! My friend Jesse LeJeune laid down some amazing paint. But I guess after painting some of the top drag cars in the country and 100s of best appearing awards you have a damn good clue on what your doing! Wait till it’s cut and buffed!! Thanks again my friend for everything. “Enjoy the beauty of Customizing
November 21, 2021 at 08:40 #72314Rik HovingKeymasterWonderful news from Dave Shuten about the famous Ron Aguirre Custom Corvette the X-Sonic.
“Finally able to share the news that we acquired the X Sonic! It’s going to be on display at the LA Auto Show, Friday! Outside the Galpin Hall of Customs! First time on display in half a century… You’ll be able to see the entire restoration on @theautopian (coming soon) This car is beyond historic and was the first of many things… The biggest being the first “lowrider” (first car with hydraulic suspension) and the first Bubble Top Show Car!”
Although Dave’s “claims” of the car being the first car with hydraulic suspension or the first lowrider are not quite accurate, I’m really Looking forward to see this one getting restored… and wonder which of the many versions will be chosen. (Photos of the unrestored X-Sonic shared by Abe Lugo)

December 1, 2021 at 08:17 #72398Rik HovingKeymasterSteve Pierce got his 1936 Buick Custom project back from the Menges Twin Speedshop and spend a great weekend of progress.
“Finished the radiator support cross member to get the front sheet metal at the right height. Got the hood latch cable mounted and working. And got the 37 Cadillac headlight buckets modified to use the 36 Buick mounts. My plan is to work front to back. Still lots to do but enjoying being back in my garage.”
