Scott Menges‎ is working on some interesting hard-top window frames for a chopped ’49 Mercury… Nice detailed photos of the process.

“Been working on the side glass of this 49 Mercury hardtop conversion. The car came to us already chopped with the window openings and tracks shaved. We Made a removable track section and put power windows on the doors. The quarter windows are slid into a channel and bolted in since there was not enough clearance to roll them down. Everything made out of stainless thn Sanded and polished using my Eastwood contour sct”.

Those Menges brothers are doing some very nice work. I’d like to see a bit more on how they formed the channels.

Bryan needs to start a thread on his 36.

Jani’s Merc is stunning but it might just be I have a thing for dark green 39s.

Timmys is stunning too albeit looks a little too airbagged. I just like seeing the rear tyre and a peek o’ red rim lip.

    Thanks guys.

Do you know what ever happened to your Chevy?

I sold it to a guy in France who then sold it to a tattooer over there. A few pics of the car popped up with fresh chrome and interior a couple years back, but I haven’t heard or seen anything since.

That’s too bad I always loved that car and wanted to see it get finished. It had such a cool Landon vibe to it.
