September 13, 2017 at 22:10 #53465Dave (a.k.a. rodncustomdreams)ParticipantA fellow the next street over always has a few interesting cars in his garage and while driving by one day I noticed a ’41 Ford coupe in the driveway. Â He had picked it up somewhere along the way and had acquired a few parts to get it up and running. Â The surprise was, he had two extra (non-working) radios which he graciously donated to my project! Â Car guys eh? Â What can you say. Â What he had were a Philco and a Spartan, so I picked the nicer faceplate and painted it and the knobs the same bone colour as the steering wheel.
I then gutted one completely to make room for a couple of speakers.
Cool discovery on the inside:
Assembled with new mounting hardware and ready to install:

September 14, 2017 at 17:37 #53518DavidParticipantNo complaining over here Dave….keep the pics and the story coming. I’m loving every bit of it. The dash is splendid in pics, amazing in person. I told you at Indy, but that brown with the bronze paint color is fantastic! I can imagine your excitement the day the dash was painted and you finally got to see the color for real. The way the light plays off the bronze is simply wonderful. Great work on the gauges by the way. I’m impressed with your efforts on the lettering and numbers.
September 14, 2017 at 22:38 #53521Bert GustafssonParticipantVery nice dash!

September 18, 2017 at 23:09 #53627Dave (a.k.a. rodncustomdreams)ParticipantNice day outside to roll the car out and allow for priming some of the other bits.. Â There’s those great lines!!
The nose.. Neil fabbed up a jig to hold the front stable as it’s all one piece. Â Lots of time and hard work is certainly paying off!

September 18, 2017 at 23:27 #53628Dave (a.k.a. rodncustomdreams)ParticipantWhile some final work was being done on the car some of the “bits” were off to Warren for paint. Â Neil and Warren have a great working relationship as the painter is confident that he is receiving the best from the body man and can focus on laying down the best paint job possible. Â This connection has been cultivated over many projects and both are comfortable knowing there will be no big issues. Â Makes my comfort level great as well since both men are good friends of mine!
Nothing compares to seeing your colour choice first appear on major body panels!
So smooth..
And, in the sunlight – wow!! Â Colour me happy!!
