Yes the Edsel boat tails are interesting design studies.

Today I roughly laid out the floor again. Got to go to Perth again for two weeks so today will inspire me. I may end up doing a similar parade boot as the 39, which was inspired by the Cord Sportsman and Auburn speedster.

The 29 cowl requires a bit of repair work and I agree it might suit the aesthetic I’m after. P1000571_crop_364x398P1000570-1368x912P1000567-912x1368

Very cool idea Quentin and nice progress so far. Hopefully this inspires your son and he’ll get into hot rods/customs. Do you think he will help you work on it at all?

You have seen Edsel Ford’s speedsters, right?

I’m still over in Perth but it didn’t stop me finding a couple of cool bits from eBay. Found a 32 chev roadster screen and pillars that I’ll modify to suit the model a. Same guy had a 38/౩9 Packard engine that I am not sure about but decided to give it a go at the last second. It might be a bit of a boat anchor, who knows? It’s different. Engine is a runner and only $200. It has Packard written in the casting on the head.

Also went to an old guy here in Perth who hoards model a stuff. Had every damn thing that i need for both build and wouldn’t sell a damn thing. . . In case he needs it. He had 8 of these cool hubcaps as seen in the top pic lying on the garage floor and it hurt to get turned down every offer. 148649_10204363729077195_8717454744334994569_nLooks like I’m going build two roadsters now. . . . Found a pic of JBs roadster, bottom pic and fell in love. Screenshot_2017-04-09-06-34-22DSC_0073-copy_crop_635x422

Forgot to add that i may have found a Duval windshield frame with glass to suit a model a. Also got 3IMG_1443[2] Packard grilles.

Here is the windshield that i scored cheap. It is for a 28 29. Looks like the 30 31 cowl will have to wait. P1000659_crop_405x510

Cool windshield… looks to be based on the famous Hallock windshield.
