KeymasterNice new design from Chris Piscitelli.
“Tonight’s Facebook Marketplace find/redesign: Ever hear of a Dodge Hayes Town Coupe? Not surprising if you haven’t. There were less than 400 made for Dodge at Hayes body Corp in Grand Rapids, Michigan for 1939. With longer boat-tail style roofs, hardtop-looking side glass, and a full back seat, they were a handsome departure from Chrysler’s offering in 39.
Leave it to FB marketplace to bring this stalled street rod project into my periphery. Since the car already has some heavy 40 Merc vibes, I decided to give it the same treatment as I would if I was dealing with its dearborn-based sibling. Heavy chop to proportion the top, with a bit more forward lean to the B pillar, removal of extraneous trim, and I borrowed some 39 Chrysler fenders since I love the graceful arch above the wheel wells as opposed to the straight strakes on the Dodge fenders. To the rear, I used the arch to create the trim line for a full-length skirt. Some smoother ford/merc bumpers, a healthy height adjustment, and some Lyon accessory caps complete the art deco taildragger.”Enjoy the beauty of Customizing

ParticipantNo, still computer art –Ā itĀ“s Adobe Illustrator. ItĀ“s been decades since I touched an airbrush. I can get some really crisp results with this software and it doesnĀ“t suffer from the problem of photoshop, where it gets soft and fuzzy if you zoom in or try to blow it up too much. I`m still learning…

KeymasterAnother Steve Stanford Masterepiece.
This one is a real coincidence, since Palle and I had been talking about using Palle’s “left over” 1947 and 1948 Cadillac Parts in combination with an old Throther McMinn Sports Custom Illustration. And come up with a kind of a Sports Car, but more towards a Custom Car feel than a Sports Car feel… Just as a fun project, talking about it, sketching perhaps. But we had not even reached the sketching phase.. and Then Steve shares this on his Instagram. So amazing that the same ideas are born at the same time in different parts of the world…
