Looking forward to seeing this finished !
It’s all about properly scaling down traditional American 40s / early 50s custom styling , really shows that lots of other James D photoshops based on UK cars should be built !
I’m guessing it’s a 2.0 Pinto OHC / Type 9 gearbox Granada / sierra set up , wonder did it take much to fit it ?
June 29, 2020 at 00:52 #67809tony deveyParticipantYeah, your right about the Pinto and type 9 gearbox, but the under pinning is still stock Austin, although with a few mods at the front cut coils with tube shocks and the rear 3″ lowering blocks with tube shocks. Stock steering and brakes, biggest suspension improvement was getting rid of the lever arm shocks the rear axle is geared a little too low but on the look out for a Hereford differential. Engine and box easy fit new mounts and a scoop out the front crossmember, nippy little thing very usable. Your also right about James D’s photoshop’s I have a list I would like to try but better finish this one first.

I have quite a long list of cars to build too, but no space or skills to do any of it.

Could not be happier with my newly finished interior by Tuckers_trimming 😍 Metallic copper and cream pairing perfectly with the red ✨ Pre-chop the Somerset still had its original interior which was literally rotting away… the carpets were gross, split leather in the seats with foam poking out and peeling door cards. Not to mention the furry ‘headlining’ that would stick to your face and get into your eyes- if anyone’s been on a journey with me on a hot day you’ll know what I mean 😂 Safe to say it’s quite a transformation! ✨
