    Have fun Keith…

    From Rob Ida…

    From Rob Ida…

Some hand engine turning with my 30’s Black and Decker drill restored by Alternativechrome Blackanddecker.
The piece on the left is a sill plate for the Merc. It has a curved edge and a raised border that’s been polished. The dropped center is engine turned. I used clover valve lapping compound and a 3/4 hard cotton buff. The hard part about engine turning is that if you screw one swirl up, you have to repolish and start over again. It takes patience.

    From Rob Ida….

Rob: “Ryan we need a garnish moulding for the custom curved rear glass that’s already installed and has a light colored wool headliner.. It needs to be curved in both directions, metal finished and look like a factory ford part.” Ryan: “ok, what do you want me to make after that?”

Thanks for the updates Rik. I am really liking this car I think it’s neat to see a high end build like this being done as a custom as most tend to be more in the vein of hotrods.

    Insane!
I can get the point of front skirts being a concept car with “art deco style”, but imo the car would look better without them… What’s the trick/function of the opening headlight?

Even the belly pan or motor alone is a piece of art… 😮

The opening headlight was done to give easier access to the front skirts.

    Wow! What a car.
I´m glad the front fenderskirts are smooth. What were the holes in them for, that are visible in the build photos?

I guess a few of our initial misgivings have been proven unfounded. It is an incredible result. Glad the port holed fenders went. Still not sure about the wheels but lots of other details work well . My guess is 17500 chargeable manhours. . . . .
And I really need some luggage like that for the 39. . . As I intend to live in it once it’s done.

You did a good job on the seats Quentin.
