Inner fenders that look like wing tips and conceal the wiring and mechanics for the opening headlight and steerable skirts

This is the under grill pan. No one would ever believe how many hours goes into this thing. From design, to fabrication, fitting to the grill, fenders, center peak and belly pan. Then the chrome trim was shaped out of brass, hand finished the chrome plated. Body work, paint, assembly and installation.

Crazy build. I saw that the headlights pops in and out and I’m really curious what that is about. Is it a way of getting access to all the stuff inside the fender or…

    Correct Bert.
On an earlier short video Rob Ida posted on his facebook of the headlights opening up he wrote: “We needed easy accessibility to the inner fenders, brakes, suspension etc. The touch sensitive headlight makes it easy”

Ok, thanks for the clarification. Almost a shame to cover up all the amazing fabrication and detailing on that car. They should have used a body like the Pontiac ghost car.

I’ve waited my whole life to meet a nice wholesome lass with “touch sensitive headlights”.
Checkout the background cars in Bert’s pic. If I imagine. . . . I can see my 39 in the corner there.

Cooling system is in, intercooler tank is in, P/S and coolant overflow up top.

Hand sculpted tail light housings for the Merc.
I sculpted it from styrofoam insulation foam board from lows. You can sculpt it and sand it to a high level with nice definition. This one sculpture is used both left and right tail lights. From the foam board we made aluminum castings.
