Well, i think i just got me some more work, Palle is the oven hot yet?
i got the respond i needed, if you look at a 40´s build 35-36 Ford almost everyone had a sunken in plate! and all other customs to from that era. So guess this one need a sunken in plate to?
But for the couch-built feeling i think of making a chromed frame around the Plate/Glass. with the “Art deco” style like the hubcaps.
Have bought a 1947 plate for this car with a quite nice number-combination, but i have not got that one yet, so i did a try with another plate.
Here is a quick scetch of the frame, did it smaller then the plate so i might need to change the size?
And the inner radius is not as on the plate, (stole this design from the Calori 36)November 27, 2016 at 15:46 #45051Kenneth KristianssonParticipantSounds great Andreas and the idea of a framing around it is very neat. I have a spare glass if you want and then Palle can make us some extras when he got the time.

Kenneth does have one exstra, but when you have the wanted size, just send me a cardboard template, and i will make a couple
i have been, and maybe still does, think of making a chrome surrounding for my cadillacDecember 17, 2017 at 09:26 #55448AndreasParticipantSomeone give me a kick in the ass. i have a car that needs to be built!
Well, i have not forgot the 36, have been doing some of the remaining rust, mediablast and stuff like that!
not sure if i will use this? time will tell?
December 17, 2017 at 09:29 #55452AndreasParticipantSome of the more time-steeling work that needs to be done
December 17, 2017 at 09:31 #55456AndreasParticipantAt least the hole for the plate is there.
December 17, 2017 at 11:24 #55458Rik HovingKeymasterI do like the Art-Deco look of that license plate frame Andreas. Details like that allow you to add a few more unique Art-Deco touches in the rest of the car as well. Plus I like the way it matches the Flipper Hubcaps with the extra bar sections in the cent of the hubcap.
Looks like winter has already arrived.. so you just need to lock your self in the garage, plenty of coffee, and tv-diners and you can come out after the winter.. with a far more complete Custom ’36 Ford…
Good to see some progress…
Enjoy the beauty of Customizing
