finally to start shaping some metal! after cutting a piece of sheetmetal the size of the pattern Mike decided where he’ll need to shrink and what areas he’ll need to stretch to get the shape we need. he’ll do most of the shrinking on a Pullmax and stretching on a power hammer and a planishing hammer.
Oh wow, that is a very interesting technique to transfer the foam shape to flat metal.

starting to take shape. one picture with the pattern and one picture fitted to the car. more work to be done but happy so far.
Mike, just musing: What if the old time “panel-beaters” like the French Figoni, Saoutchik, Chapron fellows could peek in and see what your guys are creating. Wouldn’t they be grinning from ear to ear. And the Valley Custom boys, the Ayalas, Barris brothers and Bill Cushenbery. Panel beating! For sure.
