I came across the image I did for you last year which made me think about you Tony.

    Any progress on the ’38?

Hi Rik, I was told I had to do an update.

I have been working away making a shroud for the fan one side of the radiator, ducting for the other side. Interior trim panels, wiring, plumbing a/c, fitted seatbelts…a bunch of stuff. I have driven it up and down the road outside my house.

It has been for its inspection before blowing apart for bodywork, paint and trim. This inspection is for a complete car to check on all the basic safety/functional things such as brakes, exhaust, steering, seatbelts. Everything was a-okay.

    Thank you Tony.

    HUGE MILESTONE.

And the car looks so absolutely fantastic outside in the wild.  That rear 3/4 view of the car getting on or off the truck is EPIC. Absolutely wonderful lines!

I bet it must have felt amazing to be able to drive it on the street for the very first time in… So many years.

    Congratulations.

Hi Rik (and others) I thought I’d let you know that I’ve started painting some colour.

I can just see the big smile on your face, laying that color down and standing back to see it in various lights.  Long time coming!  Have fun, Tony!

Yes Larry, that’s pretty much exactly what happened. The paint is acrylic lacquer, which I haven’t used in about 40 years (mid 80’s was the last car I used it on.) Man you go through a lot of thinner!
