Pat Ganahl Column on South City RandC Site

Pat Ganahl recently started an online Column on his son’s South City R&C website.

Pat has inspired me a lot in when I started to find out about Custom Cars in the 1980’s when he worked hard to reintroduce the Custom Cars on the scene again. His articles and columns in various magazines and books have had a huge impact on me.  And he is now sharing more of his stories online….

“As you probably know, I’ve been retired from book, magazine, or freelance work for a couple of years now. But are you aware of the new “column” that my son Bill and his wife Sabina have talked me into doing on his South City Rod and Custom website? Most people would call it a blog, but I don’t like that name or word. The way I describe it is something like a cross between my old Editorials for Street Rodder or Rod & Custom, and the old “Roddin’ at Random” section of Hot Rod. I’ve still got a lot of vintage photos in my files that no one has seen, taped interviews with rod & custom heroes, interesting new stuff (or old lost stuff) that I come across, and of course opinions.

It’s called Pat Ganahl’s Rod and Custom. I’ve done about six of them so far. And you can find it by going to Southcityrodandcustom.com.

Among other stuff in my files is full coverage of the first (and subsequent) KKOA Leadsled Spectaculars from the ’70s and ’80s, custom car features from that era, and even ’60s/’70s L.A. Roadsters and Early Times features and coverage (Neal East recently gave me all of the “Stewart & East” freelance files from that era).
