1959 Car Show Movie

1959 CAR SHOW MOVIE

This 1959 Car Show and Lions Drags and Hill Climbs movie with amazing footage of some late 1950’s Customs and Hot Rods was recently shared on facebook

The video shows a lot of very interesting well known and not so well known Custom Cars and Hot Rods. A lot of Watson painted cars that we have seen before and some cars I had never seen before. There is a 1950 Ford Coupe with a Watson Outline paint job that I have seen in the Personal Photo Collection of Larry Watson, but only when this paint job had been sanded down for a new paint job. I had never seen anything from this car when it had Larry’s outline paint job finished. This is really great material. Then there is the later version of the Dave Bugarin Mercury with the quad headlights, and Dave Cunningham’s sectioned 1940 Ford with the front end changes in fresh primer. There so are many neat cars in the footage, and even in the back ground. Possibly the Car show footage was recorded at the South Gate Car show on Tweedy Blvd.

The drag race and hill climb footage is very neat as well.

I will be adding some more info to this article in the near future. Until then, enjoy the movie shared by Bob Goggle on Youtube.

Sadly there is no sound with the movie.
