After seeing Grant MaClean‘s ’47 Mercury Chop post on the CCC-Thread. Marty (aka Merc47) decided to re-chop his own ’47 Mercury Coupe project.

Hey Grant! Hungry for more photos and updates! Your Merc has inspired me to re chop my Merc! So I cut it all loose and chopped another 2 inches out of the center B pillars for that Awesome Laid Back Look!

    Looking good Marty.

Please make sure that the rear window is not up to high into the roof.
One car that “suffered” from that is the Bill DeCar ’41 Merc.
The rear window needs to be balanced inline with the side windows as well as with the windshield.

    Looks good Marty.
I like the shape of your B-pillar and the way you made to help lines to make sure the quarter window flows nice with the door window opening.
