Apparently Rick Dore was in Perth last week. Don’t know if that means one of these might be headed over????

I know his new car will be at the Sema show… but it sure would be nice if they would go on a world tour after that.

Matt Townsend is restyling the top and side window frames of this old 1940 Mercury Custom.

The car has been around as a full custom since at least the early 1940’s when some work was done it at the Barris Shop. It has changed hand a many times over the years. Rod Powell’s shop did a full restoration a few decades ago in deep purple. A later owner redid it again in maroon and sadly added bags to it. The new owner Sam Schoenberg added some more period touches again and is now adding new side windows and changing the new padded top with curved side window channels.

This is how it looked in the early 1980’s

And this Chopped 56 Chevy also caught my eye… No I do not care for the airbags in up position, nor the wheel choice. But dang… that chop looks really good on that car.

I like that car, too. But to my eye, the chop is too severe; looks cartoonish.
