    While the car is still at the body shop for final body prep and paint, Palle is working on some of the details.

    The 1948 Cadillac center mounted gauge pod still needed to have a solution for the half round hole at the bottom, where the ’48 Caddy Steering column used to be.
    Solution… Buick clock, and new center panel below the pod.

    More detail work.

    The Appleton Spotlight arm passes halfway thru the windshield garnish moulding. Palle added some material on the inside to make the hole look a bit better, and stronger.

    Body in the paint booth.
    Spray-filler has been sanded smooth, guide coat added, and more sanding, followed with one more coat of spray filler, some more light sanding, then 2 coats of primers… lots of work… then COLOR!

    Great “Save” on the gauge panel Palle. The clock will look great!

    thanks Torchie…and thanks Rik for posting for me. i dont have much time on the comp at the moment.
    sunday morning i was not sure what to do with the missing cluster bottom..sp i just started to cut a little..sometimes the ideas show up when it looks like if theres is no way back
    i think this will work. lots of work ahead though, i wanna make it look like the upper part, and hopefully end up in chrome.
    this is this evenings work..

    you get the idea…stay tuned

    The dash is going to look great! I’m a little jealous, I’ve always wanted center mount gauges. Have you thought at all about opening up the gauge cluster and clock and painting a little bit of it to match the body?

    That gauge cluster addition with the Buick clock is really cool…will it be painted or chromed?
