    John St Germain’s 1935 Ford Coupe “Jazz ‘n Me”
    Traditional styled with updated technology.

    Late 1940’s styled Custom coupe inspired by the work of Harry Westergard and other So-Cal Customizers from the early days.
    Wonderful styling with many period details. Completely rebuilt with many updated parts underneath for an ultimate driving experience and the perfect looks.

    Low mileage and climate controlled storage.
    Street Rodder top 10 finalist overall of the Top 100 cars selected.

    Facts & Figures

    The Body
    John studied every chopped 35-36 Ford he could find and made notes on what he liked, and what not. From these notes he made his own perfect chopped coupe plan. He first “practiced” on an old fashion cut and taped photo to get the right proportions. And then Eric Jackson of Oshawa, Ontario performed the chop in metal guided by John’s instructions. The chop turned out to be 2 5/8ths inches in the front and 4-inches in the rear.

    – Jeff Carroll of Lindsay, Ontario stripped the body and did a large amount of the metal work including all metal repair panels to the lower extremities.
    – Customizing Rootleib hood sides with ’35 Oldsmobile side grilles
    – installing ’47 Lincoln door buttons
    – ’39 Hudson taillights
    – ’36 Buick headlights.
    – ’36 Plymouth bumpers
    – mechanical trunk opener.
    – Peter Laabs and Wayne Scales fine tuned the body and all the body work and prepped the body for paint.
    – Jeff Norwell was asked to advise on the final color with became a RM Royal Maroon gloss.
    – Paint was done by Rob at Deez Rodz and Ridez in Uxbridge-
    – Plating House of Toronto, Ontario did all the chrom work.

    Interior
    – Stock 1935 Ford dash filled with a ’39 Mercury gauge cluster
    – ’51 Ford Crestliner accessory wheel.
    – Rod Akey of Simco, Ontario created the custom bench seat, covered in crème and maroon leather accented by Mercedes maroon square weave carpet.
    – Wiring by Steve Marsden and tunes from Alpine

    The Frame
    – The frame was boxed and C’d in the back by Dave Mainland of Stouffville, Ontario, and John.
    – 1985 Ford truck 9-inch rear packed with 3.93:1 gears combined with custom 24 ½-inch ladder bars with Pete & Jakes tube shocks and RideTech air bags.
    – The front axle was replaced with a Paul Horton’s Welder Series IFS utilizing Mustang II spindles and RideTech air bags accented by rack-and-pinion steering.
    – Master Power Brakes dual reservoir master, tele lines, 11-inch Ford drums in the back back and GM vented discs and calipers up front.
    – 15×6-inch Ford steelies with 710-15 Firestone / Coker wide whites with ’48 Cadillac cap’s with one-off spun center crests.

    The Engine

    – Engine-master Len Hurley of Nobleton, Ontario, rebuild a ’50 Mercury 286ci mill.
    – 4-inch stroked Merc crank
    – 21A rods
    – Ross 9.5:1 slug’s
    – Isky cam
    – Offenhauser aluminum heads with a matching Offenhauser 2-pot intake with Ford 94-series carbs built by Ken O’Connor
    – Mallory distributor
    – Fenton headers
    – Brockman mellow-tone mufflers and custom tubing
    – ’65 Mustang top-loader trans by Len grabs
    – Jeep shifter
    – custom driveshaft
