Sylvian shared some great material on the HAMB including cars from all kinds. Here are some of the custom cars he photographed.
I especially love this mild 40’s style 1939 Ford sedan.

January 25, 2014 at 17:26 #9660Ian GibbonsParticipantThanks for all the work of putting these pictures all in one place Rik! I am really not feeling the brass trim on Hetfield’s car Not sure if it is staying that way or they just didn’t have time to go to chrome but personally I think it looks cheap and a little tacky.
January 25, 2014 at 21:10 #9661Rik HovingKeymasterI agree Ian. The brass is not helping the car very much. I really hope they will chrome or nickel plate it later on.
Here are a few more.
Brian Collins took this photo of this 1959 Elcamin… and this car might be my favorite custom at this years show.
Not something I would built, but extremely nicely done, well designed and very creative without getting crazy.Tom Davidson took this detail photo of the car.
And another photo of another favorite of mine… 1938-39 Ford sedan.. We really need so see more of these done as mild customs. (another Tom Davidson Photo)
The next photos are all the work of Howard Gribble… Howard always has excellent photos.

Bangshift has a lot of cool photos from the show on their WEBSITE One if the photos shows a 1950 Mercury. A car I photographed in 1993 at a custom car show in Tennessee. It looked pretty much the same way as it does now. Only different wheels and tires, and possibly engine. Nice to see it is still around.
And the photo below I took in 1993
John D’Agostino took this photo

January 26, 2014 at 11:27 #9664Rik HovingKeymasterThe best sample of how the NOT mount your spotlights on a custom come from this purple mercury photographed by Derek Campbell.
Derek Campbell also took the next two photos.
And another view of that nicely done green 1959 ElCamino.

January 26, 2014 at 23:06 #9668Jeff NepplParticipantYes that is a blueprint of how not to install spotlights. I didn’t ask and don’t care to find out if they work or not. Well at least the stock merc grill looks good on the purple one.
January 27, 2014 at 22:07 #9698Bert GustafssonParticipantThanks for sharing all nice pics Rik. I’m on the same page as you guys with that golden trim on Hetfield’s thing but apart from that, it truly is a masterpiece. And hopefully chrome is a part of their future plan for it.
January 28, 2014 at 06:57 #9708Jeff NepplParticipantThe green 59 El Camino is jaw dropping.
January 28, 2014 at 07:53 #9710Rik HovingKeymasterHere are a few more on the green 1959 El Camino. If somebody knows more about it, please let us know. I would love to know who built it, and see some in progress photos of “kermit”.
Boones took these photos.
Not too sure about the interior though. Looks like a tribute to Norm Grabowski.
KustomBuick took these photos.

January 28, 2014 at 08:00 #9711Rik HovingKeymasterBoones also took the next couple of photos.
I would love to see more and sharper photos of this very nice in progress Buick. Looks very interesting.
Really sad I was able to find only this blurry photo. And Boones also took two more of my other favorite custom at the show. The blue 1940’s style mild custom 38 Ford.
Interior photos of the Black Pearl.
