this weeks update- I should be done with the outside of the top tonight, I just have a few small things inside and then on to the garnish moldings. My good friend picked up a 4X10 piece of sheet metal so I cut it up and mocked up one side of the fadeaways. I was able to find a 49′ Cadillac grille in a local junkyard, but I’m not going to use it. A 47′ olds grille should be here Friday. A friend of mine gave me bumpers, brackets, and splash pans he didn’t use on his car, I can’t wait to get them on so it looks like a complete car again.

I’ve still got to grind above the window, but’s it’s all welded up. The olds grille will be here today! I’m planning on switching to the grille/ headlights this weekend… more pictures later.

Weekend update- I didn’t get as much accomplished as I would of liked – too much goofing off and beers. Everything is just mocked up , a friend of mine stopped over and we started bending the fadeaway and ran it through the English when a few times, quite a task with such a large piece. I started on Frenching the headlights, bolting on the front splash pan, bumper and trimmed to make the olds grille fit in the opening.

When the old roof met the laid down back window, there was a dip in the roof line. What did you do to get the roof to flow so nicely into the back window?

So good to see your creative energy surging. It’s looking great. Inspiring to watch.
I thought initially that the Cad grill would be my pick but the Olds grill suits the fade aways better.
